Thank you for the generous donations you've sent for the RNLI so far £112 with promises of more. At the actual event they collected over £1500 from the eager crowds come to watch the fun. It was a beautiful sunny day. The costumes were great: mermaids, crusaders, animals, Father Christmas + and just swimmers. The fully kitted RNLI men swam out beyond the waves to stop people swimming to France. Great I thought get in the water and swim towards those muscular men. The Lyme town crier called on your marks..... It was quite hard to get into the sea it was so crowded! Pausing at the first wave as you do to wait for it to pass you by by bracing your body towards it. It knocked me over and I went under completely! Mouthfuls of salty water soaking wet. A young man in a furry suit next to me helped me up and asked if I was alright. I felt quite old then! The wave was obviously quite big, a tsunami in fact. I lost my crown and bits of tinsel The wet clothes suddenly seemed quite heavy. I turned round and there was Jenny emerging beautifully in control so we came out. We changed our clothes and went to the pub for a brandy. These are the photos a friend Jane managed to take between the legs of the vast crowd. If I get any more from the other photographers I'll bore you with more Thank you again for your donations. Any sinners should immediately go to their nearby seaside and make a donation to the RNLI You could see those hunky men that rescue us at sea for yourself. Happy New Year! Love Jules x A pile of furniture and wood we were asked to draw on our first day in Phil's art class at the Mill using only pencil and with no shading. Initially a difficult and daunting task to show distance and relationships.
The Redwood trees near San Francisco are enormous, statuesque and beautiful. The wood is like a great cathedral full of atmosphere and a very spiritual and uplifting walk. Highly recommended as is a trip to the vineyards both shown to me by my lovely nephew David
Recently I went to Myanmar (Burma) with eighteen other travellers. Our expert guide Haymar took us to some interesting and beautiful places. The highlights were Bagan and Lake Inle. The people were very welcoming and willing to be photographed by these curious tourists. Highly recommended. Go soon.
